Teen Road Test

Requirements for Ages 16-24 that completed a Teenager Driver’s Ed Program:
1. Valid Texas Learner License
**Teens must be at least 16 years and held Learner License for 6 months or have turned 18. Final date of 6 months is found on the back of Learner License and road test can be done any day after.
**Learner license typically expire the day of students eighteenth birthday (renew if necessary before appointment date)!
**Temporary paper permit is accepted while valid (expiration is found above the picture of temporary permit).

2. Driver’s Ed Final Certificate DE-964
**Must be labeled ‘For Driver License Only’ and transfer box cannot be checked.

3. Impact Texas Teen Drivers Certificate (ITTD)
**Certificate must not be expired. This is a free service provided by the DPS. To register for it CLICK HERE.

4. Completed 30 hour Log
**For Parent Taught courses 32 hour Classroom Log and 14 hour In-Car instruction log will also be necessary.
5. A parent must be present at the time of appointment
**For Parent Taught courses, the instructor parent that registered through TDLR must be present at the time of appointment.
